About us

Meet the Kesslers, the duo behind Iggy’s Pizza Shop who are stoked to share their pizza love story with the world!

Their pizza story began when Brian, chef and experienced restaurateur, started working in a pizza shop at age 14. He never looked back, and to this day, making pizzas is like breathing for Brian. Fast forward years later to him meeting Erinn and falling in love in a pizza shop (of course)! At the start of their marriage, Erinn and Brian owned two successful pizzerias in the Atlanta suburbs with their brother, which they eventually sold so they could seek new adventures in Charleston, SC.

After eight years of calling Mt. Pleasant home, Brian and Erinn opened Iggy’s Pizza Shop in 2021 to share their love of pizza with their community. Iggy’s Pizza Shop, named after Brian’s grandfather, is a celebration of the understated badassery of those who came before us and our shared love of food.

At the age of 9, Iggy began working in the coal mines of Pennsylvania and later served as a cook in the Army during WWII. He grew, hunted, and cooked everything his family ate including things like bread, kielbasa, and pickled deer heart — pickling deer heart is indeed a criteria for becoming a badass. Times were tough as a coal miner, but Iggy’s family came together to share their love of their handmade foods. So, in honor of Iggy, we hope you come share the world’s common love of food with your own families here at Iggy’s Pizza Shop.

  • I don’t know what’s better: the food or the customer service! High quality food and the [owners] are awesome. Always very welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend this place to anyone that is in the mood for pizza because this place has the best pizza in Charleston.

  • You don’t find many like Iggy’s anymore! Hand-tossed pizza, an incredible environment and excellent service. We tried a variety of pizzas but my favorite is hands-down the Notorious Fig. You won’t be disappointed in any choice, tho.

  • New favorite pizza in Mt. P. Great little place with a welcoming ambiance and very friendly, family-owned and operated way of doing business. Highly recommend.”
